Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, HG Wells, Beatrix Potter, Chico from X Factor. All total pioneers of their fields, obviously, and it’s the lovely county of Sussex we have to thank for them all. But now we have another reason to thank Sussex as we welcome Crawley’s premium cocktail lounge and nightclub, Six Degrees. Based on the concept of the ‘Six degrees of separation’, Six Degrees brings you a multi-roomed clubbing experience with a real sense of community to it. Six Degrees invites you to not just go out, but go ‘Out out.’ So head on down to Crawley because it’s no longer Chico time. It’s party time, baby.
Six Degrees’ décor is streamlined and neutral-toned, made colourful by all sorts of funky underlighting and LED gels. It’s their use of colour which gives the whole place a fantastic energy, and a really slick but striking finish. There are 5 rooms in total, 2 geared solely for music and 3 distinct bar areas to get your drink on. The separate areas make Six Degrees an ideal location for anything from quiet drinks to party-hard clubbing, because we all know how quickly ‘ just heading out for 1’ on a Friday, turns to ‘I’ve missed the last train and left my ex a voicemail.’ Although, if you are sensible enough to plan ahead, most of Six’s events are available online for advance discount prices, so you can generally nab tickets for as cheap as £1 or £2. You can also bag awesome VIP packages from as little as £80, which is practically unheard of. Surely someone's doing the maths a bit wrong here?

Boasting ‘The best cocktails in Crawley’, Six has a refined and classic cocktail menu with one surprising addition: a ‘create your own’ option. With mixologists on hand, you can concoct your very own cocktails using any/all of your naughty nightcap favourites. We recommend having a go with their Pineapple-flavoured Ciroc because.. well you know, it’s good to try and get some of your 5-a-day. Another thing we noticed was that Six Degrees seems to be one of the only venues ever where the DJ is actually responsive to music requests. Hurrrah! What with create your own cocktails and the ability to engage with Mr. DJ like some sort of awesome human jukebox, it’s almost like clubbing at Six Degrees is a tailor-made club experience. We’re starting to feel a bit spoiled here. Six is also pretty cheap and cheerful as nightclubs go, but with 2-4-1 cocktails every weekend between 9-11pm- it’s practically dangerous. Thanks to contactless cards, pissing away a small fortune has never been easier. At least when you had to enter your PIN after 4 jägers there was an element of challenge to it. Now you’re just stood like a wally, handing out drinks as if you’re Crawley’s answer to Oprah Winfrey. Bad times.
Six co-owner Adam Foxley previously managed rival nightclub ‘Moka’, meeting his business partner, Kieran Laville also working on the nightclub circuit. It’s fair to say that after years in the field, this duo know a thing or two about success in the area as Crawley welcomed Six Degrees with open arms. Other than an ‘Over 21’ restriction on a Saturday, Six Degrees seems to attract anyone and everyone in town who knows how to properly let their hair down. Six has also had some pretty impressive celebrity patronage having had visits from MIC’s Ollie Proudlock, Spencer Matthews, Jamie Laing and Sam Thompson, Towie’s Pete Wicks, Footballer Aaron Chalmers, Geordie Shore’s Scotty T and X Factor duo: Reggie and Bollie.
You wouldn’t necessarily look at Crawley and think: Oooh luxury, would you? Let’s be honest. But Six Degrees is undoubtedly a first class night out, complete with sparklers, shot girls, luxury bottle service… basically anything you might expect to see in a 50 Cent video, bar 50 Cent himself. Although with Six’s already formidable list of celebrity visitors, we would never say never. So, if you’re up for a night where you get to feel like a VIP for a fraction of the cost, Six Degrees is truly the one and only option. Which reminds us, Chesney Hawkes is also from Crawley.
